  • A church was certainly in existence in Eccleston in 1188.

  • Eccleston Church ( sited in the old Churchyard ) was built. The remains of this old church are still visible in the Old Churchyard.

  • Pulford Church of St Mary's was designed by the architect John Douglas. Funding was partly met by the 1st Duke of Westminster.

  • Eccleston Church of St Mary's designed and built by the famous architect G.F. Bodley.

  • Pulford Church spire destroyed by fire and rebuilt.

  • Beautiful Gate ( "Mary Wood Gate" ) commissioned to replace old side gate leading to the Old Churchyard at Eccleston Church.

  • The Sanctuary Lamp is installed in Eccleston Church.

  • Appointment of a new Rector, the Reverend Dr Stephen Torr
